Not all of the following will be present on every platform, as one person may be able to perform a number of jobs.
Ofshore installation manager - this is the person who has the ultimate authority on decision making during her or her shift, and will make all the essential decisions regading the operation of the platform.
Offshore operations manager - this person is the authority on senior technical problems on the platform
Operations manager - in charge of managing the coordination of crew changes on the platform
Ballast control operator - controls and operates the fire and gas systems
Crane operators - in charge of operating the cranes which lift up cargo to be moved around the platform or onto boats.
Scaffolders - rig up scaffolding for employees who work at height as and when necessary
Coxwains - maintain the lifeboats and man them in the event of needing to get off the platform
Catering crew - who will prepare and cook all food on the platform for the rest of the staff. They need to plan up to a month in advance what type of food they require as deliveries to the platform only happen once or twice per week.
